Writers from across the south are invited to join the
Picayune Writers Group as it hosts its annual Writers Symposium on Saturday,
Sept. 27, 2014 at the Margaret
Reed Crosby Memorial Library in Picayune, Miss. The
session runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and includes a light breakfast and hearty lunch.
Six speakers will discuss various aspects of “Development of
Character,” this year’s theme. Audio book narrator and radio announcer Roy Bunales (The Voice of Roy and WRJW
radio), humorist Kathryn J. Martin,
CDA, BA, MA (and her alter ego, Miz Maudie), journalist Chelle Grantham (Sea
Coast Echo), inspirational writer Grace G. Booth, women’s fiction author Christa Allan and horror writer Paula V. Hardin will share their
insights into creating memorable characters. The variety of genres and
backgrounds held by the speakers promise a rich experience for attendees.
