Meet Paula Rose, author of Revenge

New from Anaiah Press, Revenge tells a thriller of a story about a job coach, Olivia Foster. Her client Bobby Havers can't be found and suspicion falls on Olivia. Let's chat with Paula Rose about her characters.

Author Paula Rose

"While living in my state, anyone would be aware of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, or pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). New Jersey rates of Autism are exceedingly high, but this state has managed to create amazing strides within the Autistic community including schools, residential assistance, and employment.  Thus, it was an easy task to connect the necessity of a job coach position into my fictional story that involves a member of the community with Asperger’s Syndrome.

In Revenge, while not the main character, Bobby Havers does have an integral starring role and there are several chapters where his symptoms are brought to the forefront in an interesting and positive way.

Bobby Havers was working and doing exceedingly well in a long-term placement until management changed and some claims of Bobby’s mistakes multiply.  Olivia Foster has tried to speak with the new manager on several occasions but had been rebuffed due to the manager’s meeting schedule.  However, when merchandise goes missing, it was assumed Bobby mistakenly added the materials received that had not been, but Olivia was able to match up receipts and invoices disproving that claim.

However, once Bobby disappears, the job coach’s employer ends her position and adds her to the suspect list, but when Bobby remains in contact with the job coach, Detective Lt. Phillip Landon is left with a more complex case than he had at the beginning of this disappearance. Whoever has abducted Bobby Havers knows Olivia Foster, and despite her protestations, this theory becomes solidified by the death of her special needs brother in a workplace environment from years ago.  Phillip’s only problem is to find out how the two cases connect and doing it before something happens to Bobby Havers while the job coach becomes the next target, but she makes plans to bring the missing young man home.

Can he keep Olivia safe, protect his heart, remove the job coach from someone’s target list, and adopt a faith he never knew all while adjusting to the new lives of his old family?"

"Single mother Arabella Mackenzie never imagined that going to California with her sister Clara would have such a huge impact on her life. Since the end of a disastrous relationship, Arabella has been wary of wanting or needing anyone other than her family. But when she meets hunky actor, Jeremy Fowlis, she begins to have feelings for a man for the first time since her three year old son was born. Now, she needs to try to overcome her past and learn to trust again.

Jeremy is not used to women who don't want to date him, or at least show him off to their friends - he is an in-demand actor, after all.  He is tired of the shallow, avaricious attention that he gets from the public, but when he meets intelligent, cautious Arabella, she doesn't even know his name.  Arabella’s grounded beauty captivates him instantly, but, he is wary of getting involved with a single mother with a complicated past.

Can Arabella and Jeremy both overcome their doubts and fears in order to find love?"
